Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian-American former professional bodybuilder, model, actor, director, businessman and politician who served as the 38th Governor of California (2003–2011).
Schwarzenegger began to weight train at the young age of 15 years old. He was awarded the title of Mr. Universe at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times. Schwarzenegger has remained a prominent presence in the sport of bodybuilding and he has written several books and numerous articles on the sport. Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action film icon. He was nicknamed the "Austrian Oak" and the "Styrian Oak" in his bodybuilding days, "Arnie" during his acting career and more recently the "Governator" (a term referring to Schwarzenegger's roles as a "Governor" and "Terminator").
As a Republican, he was first elected on October 7, 2003, in a special recall election to replace then-Governor Gray Davis. Schwarzenegger was sworn in on November 17, 2003, to serve the remainder of Davis's term. Schwarzenegger was then re-elected on November 7, 2006, in California's 2006 gubernatorial election, to serve a full term as governor, defeating Democrat Phil Angelides, who was California State Treasurer at the time. Schwarzenegger was sworn in for his second term on January 5, 2007.
Schwarzenegger had been married to Maria Shriver for over 25 years and the couple had four children together. The revelation in 2011 that Schwarzenegger's infidelity led to him fathering a son fourteen years earlier with an employee, Mildred Baena, led to their separation.

Arnold's Journey
Recently coming off of a brutal affair scandal, Arnold Schwarzenegger drew negative criticism for accepting the offer. Critics said that Arnold picked the wrong time to do a Reality TV show. Arnold told reporters that he tries not to think about his current situation and doesn't listen to the negative comments, stating he was thrilled to be a part of the show.
In Week 1, Arnold and Cheryl danced a Foxtrot to "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Michael Buble. The dance underwhelmed the judges and they rewarded the dance only 22 out of 40, landing him in second to last place on the judge's leaderboard for the night. The dance eventually landed him in the first bottom-two of the season. He was saved, however, as Hugh Hefner went home.
Week 3 didn't do Arnold any justice. Arnold and Cheryl danced a Jive to the classic song "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison. The dance scored badly with the judges, recieving a sad 21 points, the lowest score of the night, landing Arnold and Cheryl in eighteenth place for the week. To no one's surprise, Arnold and Cheryl were subsequently eliminated later that week along with Curtis Stone.
