Kendall Schmidt (voiceover): Last week on Dancing with the Stars... Sandra hit near perfection (clip of Sandra's dance), but Zooey failed to hit the mark (clip of Zooey's dance). And after a guest judging stint from Max Gao, we lost Logan Lerman and Zooey Deschanel (clip of elimination).

Brittany Brannon (voiceover): Tonight, Our remaining ten couples dance two dances… one being a marathon! Who will survive the halfway point of the competition? (training clips shown) Live! This is Dancing with the Stars!

The opening sequence starts. Hank is first shown picking up Edyta. Sandra then does an elegant spin with Derek. Steve jokes around with Chelsie. Cher does a fierce pose while Maksim looks on. Zooey and Damian do a sexy, demure pose. Zac and Peta do a large jump. Tina fools around with Louis. Tom casually holds Kym. Hugh gives Karina a close look. Gaga does a vampire-esque pose on Dmitry. Logan does a secret handshake with Jeanine. Lil' Wayne holds Nicole under his legs. Lee does a ballroom pose with Corky. Katy and Mark spin around, jumping. Rihanna and Val go close to each others mouths. Arnold almost uses Cheryl as a weight. Cody does a dynamic, fun pose with Julianne. Curtis performs a New Yorker with Anna. Oprah giggles around with Alec. Reese and Tony close in a smooth pose. The DWTS logo is shown.

Kendall: Hello! And welcome to Dancing with the Stars! I'm Kendall Schmidt.
Brittany: And I'm Brittany Brannon. Tonight is the halfway point of our best season yet. Our ten couples will dance twice in hopes of getting your votes.
Kendall: And trust us, from here on out it will get a lot tougher. But now, let's meet the stars of our show!

The stars walk down the stairs in this order:  Steve Carell, Hank Baskett, Tom Hanks, Zac Efron, Tina Fey, Reese Witherspoon, Cher, Katy Perry, Sandra Bullock, and Rihanna.

Kendall: That list keeps getting smaller!
Brittany: I know, right?
Kendall: Up first tonight is our Comedy Queen who saw her best scores of the season last week with a Rock & Roll themed Paso. Its actress and comedienne, Tina Fey and Louis Van Amstel!

In her VT, Tina is tempted to take out the competition quickly. She is still in shock after receiving a 10 from Carrie Ann last week. She is trying hard to make sure it happens again.

Dancing the Tango, Tina Fey and her partner Louis Van Amstel.

Tina is wearing a red-and-black dress. Louis is in a suit with red/black tie. The pair dances to “500 Miles” by the Proclaimers. Once finished they run to Kendall.

Kendall: So dramatic, guys! So fun! I just need to say before we go to Len… Welcome back Valerie! (cheers) Hope you're feeling better! Now, our judges?
Len: You showed a new side of yourself… and I liked it.(cheers)
Bruno: Very steamy! I was pulled in from the beginning!
Valerie: I definitely thought you did well, and it was impressive.
Carrie Ann: I LOVED IT! So saucy! Tina, you gave me a real performance yet again! (cheers)
Kendall: Great comments, guys! Over you go to Brittany.

The couple runs to Brittany.

Brittany: Well done, guys! So saucy! (Tina laughs, Louis follows) Scores coming up right now!

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 9(cheers)
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Valerie Hashburntar: 8

Brittany: What a great score, guys! Back to Kendall.

Kendall: Thanks, Brit. Next up is the one and only Michael Scott, who surprisingly landed in the bottom-three for the first time this season. Its actor, Steve Carell and Chelsie Hightower.

In Steve's VT, he's starting to feel a little nervous by the young competition. Landing in the bottom-three last week did not help matters.

Voiceover: Dancing the Quickstep, Steve Carell and his partner Chelsie Hightower.

Steve and Chelsie are wearing green, in reference to the song, which is “Green Light” by John Legend. Once finished, they walk to Kendall.

Kendall: Great job, guys! How fun can you get? Over to the judges.
Bruno: You are so fun to watch, my dear! (cheers)
Valerie: I think opposite. It just seemed uncoordinated this week. Good performance, but not at all your best. (boos)
Carrie Ann: I agree… with Bruno! (cheers) So fun and outrageous, honey!
Len: I'm kind of 'Malcolm' in the Middle here. I thought it was okay but you need to step up your game if you want to make the finals. I know the audience wants you there.
Kendall: Okay! Over you go to Brittany.

The pair runs to Brittany.

Brittany: A warm welcome for you two at the celebriquarium! Here are the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 9 (cheers)
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 9 (cheers)
Valerie Hashburntar: 8 (small boos)

Brittany: One point ahead of Tina, but it's close without a doubt! Kendall?

Kendall: Thanks Brittany, our third couple tonight consists of our High School Musical stud and our blonde bombshell that performed an amazing Argentine Tango last week, which was awarded the encore performance. Its actor, Zac Efron and Peta Murgatroyd!

In Zac's VT, we see he is determined to get high scores in his latest dance. Peta is having fun choreographing her first Jive on the DWTSGame.

Dancing the Jive, Zac Efron and his partner Peta Murgatroyd.

Zac is wearing a yellow cut-open shirt. Peta has many feathers on her small yellow dress. They dance to “What I Want” by Autopilot Off. Once finished they run to Kendall.

Kendall: Awesome, you two! Over to the judges.
Valerie: For me, it was fun and quirky. Zac, you have the style, Peta, you have the grace. What I want is that! (cheers)
Carrie Ann: So smoking! (laughs and cheers) You gave such a great performance, you guys! It rocked.
Len: To be honest, I know you can pull off a lot more. (boos) You're a strapping young man and the ladies love you. Show that off! And Peta, you look like a chicken in that ridiculous thing! (outrage of boos from the audience; Peta, Kendall, Zac, Carrie Ann, Bruno and Valerie are all highly shocked).
Bruno: LEN! (laughter, followed by cheers) How could you say that? It was so much fun. You two gave a roar of enthusiasm with this one!
Kendall: Shocker! That could be an award right there for Len! (laughter) Over you guys go to Brittany.

The pair runs to Brittany.

Brittany: Nobody here can believe that Len just attacked a dress! Someone’s getting egged tonight (audience laughs)! Over we go to the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)
Len Goodman: 8 (large boos)
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Valerie Hashburntar: 9

Total: 36

Brittany: Well, there we go. Back to Kendall!

Kendall: Okay, thanks Brit! next up is the actor that kept up with the competition last week with his very sophisticated Argentine Tango. Can he stay in the game again? Its two-time Academy Award winning actor Tom Hanks and Kym!

In their VT, Kym wants to choreograph a dynamic routine that'll wipe the floor. Tom could not feel prouder to be doing a Cha-Cha-Cha to a classic song.

Dancing the Cha-Cha-Cha, Tom Hanks and his partner Kym Johnson.

Tom is in a white dress shirt with brown slacks and suspenders. Kym is in a black dress. The pair dances to “Soul Man” from the Blues Brothers. Once finished, Tom dances to Kendall and Kym follows his lead.

Kendall: That was so fun! Judges?
Carrie Ann: How excitingly cool that was, T-Hanks! (laughs, cheers)
Len: It was very fun and exciting! I'll give you that! (cheers)
Bruno: Exhilarating to say the least! But Tommy, you looking like Larry King in those bloody suspenders! (huge laughter and cheers)
Valerie: Hands down the best dance of the season so far. It had a hint of jazz, a bunch of blues and tons of fun. Ingredients for the perfect Cha-Cha! (Tom is shocked, large cheers, Kym screams)
Kendall: Wow! Great comment from Valerie… I guess you know one score already! Over to Brittany!

The couple quickly runs to Brittany.

Brittany: Tom, such a soul man! (Tom starts grooving; audience laughs) Let's get the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Valerie Hashburntar: 10 (LARGE cheers)

Total: 38

Brittany: Great score, guys! You sure impressed Valerie! Let's go back to Kendall, now.

Kendall: Thanks, Brittany. Next up tonight is our Comeback Queen who was almost eliminated after dancing with Cody Simpson, but then came back last week and landed in second place! How will tonight fare? Its actress, Reese Witherspoon and her partner Tony Dovolani!

In Reese's VT, she really wants more 10’s. And she means REALLY, like 4 of them for her Salsa (if you catch our drift).

Voiceover: Dancing the Salsa, Reese Witherspoon and her partner Tony Dovolani.

Reese is wearing an aqua blue, short Salsa dress with a matching headband. Tony is wearing a black tank top. The pair dances to “Sussudio” by Phil Collins. Once finished they walk to Kendall.

Kendall: Well done, guys! Judges?
Len: You were amazing tonight, Reese! (large cheers)
Bruno: Wow! A first right there! (laughs) But I have to agree! So clean and precise, I loved it! (cheers)
Valerie: Unfortunately, I disagree. (boos) It seemed quite uncoordinated and you seemed nervous, Reese. Tony, you can't win again this season, I’m sorry to say. (large boos; Reese is astounded by what she just heard)
Carrie Ann: Meow! (laughter/applause) Valerie! Oh my god. I have to disagree completely! You put a lot of fun into the routine and it was almost effortless. (Reese says ‘Thank You’ as a gesture to Valerie).
Kendall: Go to Brittany, you guys!

Reese hugs Bruno, Len, and Carrie Ann before quickly running to Brittany.

Brittany: Okay. The excited little blonde actress is in the house! (Reese laughs) Scores?

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Valerie Hashburntar: 8 (boos)

Total: 35

Brittany: No tens. Thoughts, Reese?
Reese: Valerie has no place to tell me that I cannot win. That’s not constructive criticism, that’s just a rude comment. And I’m gonna win to prove Valerie wrong! (cheers)
Brittany: Okay. Back to the sexy Kendall.

Kendall: Thank you, beautiful Brittany! Next tonight is the actress who delivered her promise to please last week with an Argentine Tango that was near perfection. Is actual perfection in the cards tonight? Its actress Sandra Bullock and her partner Derek Hough!

In Sandra's VT, she knows that the routine will impress someone in particular. Derek goes all out on choreography and Sandra is shown creating a very skimpy outfit for the first time this season.

Dancing the Samba, Sandra Bullock and her partner Derek Hough.

Sandra is wearing a light brown Samba dress with a fringe skirt. Derek is wearing a matching cut-open dress shirt. The couple dance to “If I Ruled The World” by Kendall's band, Big Time Rush. Shockingly, Sandra's scandalous dress causes a quick wardrobe malfunction mid-dance. Once finished, the pair runs to Kendall. Sandra is holding her dress up.

Kendall: That was GREAT! Good song choice! (laughter) Judges?
Bruno: Sandra! I need a hot shower! (huge laughter)
Valerie: Well, I was expecting stuff, but not THAT! You have shown us you can overcome any obstacle! (points to Sandra's dress, laughter)
Carrie Ann: I must agree! That was tight, girl! (cheers)
Len: As Carrie Ann said, tight, unlike your dress! (huge laughter) Sandra… I loved it. Such fun that I honestly never expected! (Sandra yelps, huge applause)
Kendall: Over you go to Brittany!

The pair runs to Brittany.

Brittany: Sandra, here’s a little help for your dress (puts duct tape on Sandra’s strap; audience is hysterical). Let's get the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 10 (large cheers)
Valerie Hashburntar: 9

Total: 38

Brittany: Great scores, there! Two tens! Let's get to Kendall for tonight's seventh couple.

Kendall: Yes, next to dance is our Reality TV hubby who proposed his Paso Doble last week be an Old English-themed dance… We’re so glad that didn’t happen (audience laughs)! What will he think of tonight? Its NFL star Hank Baskett and his partner Edyta Sliwinska.

In their VT, Edyta feels she has choreographed a beautiful routine. Hank is becoming quite a tender gentleman after romantically twirling Edyta across the floor during training. This week is his week to shine!

Voiceover: Dancing the Waltz, Hank Baskett and his partner Edyta Sliwinska.

Hank and Edyta are dressed in white. The lights dim once the music starts. they dance to “Dark Waltz” by Hayley Westenra. Once finished they walk gracefully to Kendall.

Kendall: I'm forgetting you're an NFL star, man! (laughter) Judges?
Valerie: Very deep and graceful. It gave me chills. How do you keep coming out here with performances like that? It’s as if you are a dancer and not a football player. (cheers)
Carrie Ann: So beautiful. I was so impressed, you were great tonight. (cheers)
Len: I have to agree. Hank, this was your best dance yet! (cheers)
Bruno: Your lines are so elegant! It surprises me!
Kendall: Sounding great, guys. I don't think I ever got comments that good (laughter). Over you go to Brittany.

The couple runs to Brittany.

Brittany: Sounding great, guys! Let's get the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)

Bruno Tonioli: 10 (large cheers)
Valerie Hashburntar: 10 (large cheers)

Total: 40

Brittany: Finally! The second perfect score of the season! Over to Kendall.

Kendall: Thanks, Brit. Next up is our diva who earned herself a second place finish with a fiery and erotic Argentine Tango last week. Is sex in the air for our singer tonight (audience believes it is Rihanna)? Its singer and actress Cher and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy (audience laughs at its own stupidity)!

In Cher's VT, she says that she feels weird dancing to one of her own songs this week. Maksim says she can top the score she got last week.

Dancing the Rumba, Cher and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Cher is in her smallest outfit yet (a short, silver number). Maksim is wearing a grey dress shirt. The pair dances to “If I Could Turn Back Time” by Cher, herself. Once finished they walk to Kendall.

Kendall: Amazing job, guys. Let's get the comments.
Carrie Ann: If I could turn back time, I'd watch that over and over and over again. (cheers)
Len: Cher, you didn't adjust to the competition at first but now you are really improving and getting the hang of it. That was unexpectedly entertaining! (Cher blows a kiss to Len)
Bruno: I was enchanted by your moves. Cher! I think that was your best dance ever! (cheers, Cher thanks Bruno)
Valerie: The only was to describe that is… Beautiful! (Valerie stands and applauds Cher, who is surprised by Valerie’s actions)
Kendall: Sounding great, and very gracious this week, Cher! Over you guys go to Brittany.

The pair walks to Brittany.

Brittany: That was brilliant, you guys! Let's get the scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9

Total: 37

Brittany: Yay! It’s the nice Valerie! Over we go to Kendall for tonights second to last couple before the BIG event (we see some of the couples in costume for the marathon).

Kendall: Thanks, Brit! Next tonight is our Pop Princess closed the show and got their first 10 of the season last week! How will tonight go? Its singer Katy Perry and her partner Mark Ballas.

In Katy's VT, she's planning a 'foxy' Paso Doble with Mark. Katy throws around the idea that Mark should open the dance by dancing in a cage, to which Mark laughs and says “Hell No!” But another idea arises which Katy agrees to.

Dancing the Paso Doble, Katy Perry and her partner Mark Ballas.

Katy is in a leopard-print Paso dress. Mark is in a matching cut-open shirt. A giant cage, containing Katy, is in the middle of the stage, and Mark is playing a hunter letting her spirit out. The pair is of course dancing to “She Wolf” by Shakira. Once finished they prowl to Kendall.

Kendall: This is one heck of a show! Let's go to the judges.
Len: I thought the dancing was brilliant (cheers), but (boos begin), there was too many bars wasted on the cage, and where was the traditional Paso?
Bruno: Sadly, in this case… Len is right (boos). Katy, the dancing was superb but it really felt overdone with the cage.
Valerie: Lighten up, boys! (cheers) Mark's vision came true tonight and I admire it! It was pretty funky to say the least. (cheers)
Carrie Ann: I completely agree with Valerie (cheers). So fun! It started out like an erotic sex dream! (audience is amazed and hysterical)
Kendall: Carrie Ann! We are learning a lot of things about you tonight! (laughter) Over you go to Brittany.

The pair prowls to Brittany.

Brittany: That was mind-blowing! Scores?

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)

Bruno Tonioli: 9 (boos)
Valerie Hashburntar: 10 (large cheers)

Total: 38

Brittany: Great scores! Over to Kendall for tonight's final individual couple.

Kendall: Thanks, Brit. Next up is our good girl gone bad who earned herself a fifth place finish with a fiery and passionate Paso Doble last week. Is sex in the air for our singer tonight (audience is not falling for this trick again)? Its singer Rihanna and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy!

Rihanna really wants to step up her game in the VT. A fifth place finish is simply not an option anymore!

Voiceover: Dancing the Foxtrot, Rihanna and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy!

Rihanna is wearing a white dress. Val is wearing a suit with bow-tie. The pair dances to “No One” by Alicia Keys. Once finished they walk to Kendall.

Kendall: Great job! Let's get the comments.
Bruno: Enchanting. You truly are turning into the good girl. (cheers)
Valerie: Rihanna, I know you can dance, but it lacked finesse this week. I was hoping for such a better performance. (boos)
Carrie Ann: Come on Valerie! It was beautiful! I loved the simplicity to it. (cheers)
Len: It was great, but you need to learn to widen your use of stage in order to really be up there with the other contestants. You don’t get amazing performances when you only dance in a small square. (audience is confused)
Kendall: Okay then. Over you guys go to Brittany!

The pair walks to Brittany.

Brittany: Great job, guys! You seemed at home. Let's see what our judges thought in terms of scores.

Will the judges please reveal their scores?

Carrie Ann Inaba: 10 (large cheers)
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 10 (large cheers)
Valerie Hashburntar: 8 (large boos)

Total: 37

Brittany: Great scores despite what Valerie gave you!
Rihanna: Eight is enough!
Brittany: Good point, Ri-Ri. Let’s get a quick recap of the dances tonight before the dance marathon.

All dances are recapped. Brittany and Kendall are now on stage.

Kendall: All of our couples have danced for the first time tonight! Now, they all dance again for your votes and an extra boost to their scores for the week. But how?
Brittany: With a dance marathon, of course! This season’s theme is: The Jitterbug! Take a look at our stars preparing for it!

VT runs. The couples say training for a Jitterbug is very fast. It’s almost too much for some of our stars like Tom and Cher. They all hope to please.

Voiceover: Dancing the Jitterbug, please welcome all of our couples.

All couples, in old-fashioned clothing, come onto the stage.

Round 1 commences. Tina and Steve go for comedy value, whilst Rihanna and Sandra go for tricks. First out on the paddle is Tina and Louis. They aren't really upset.

Round 2 is up. Now, Reese is starting to wobble. Zac shows off, Sandra and Edyta are flipped over their partners heads, and Tom just watches on. Reese and Tony are voted out.

It's the third round. Zac stays slick, Hank wants the edge, and Sandra really shows off. Next eliminated is Zac and Peta. The audience is shocked.

Round 4 now. Rihanna does the splits, Cher and Maksim stay a tight combo, and Katy wobbles around a lot, resulting in her elimination. The audience is again shocked.

Round 5 is up. Hank almost drops Edyta in a lift, Tom and Kym have a lot of fun, and Sandra shakes her groove thang. But because of the wobble, Hank and Edyta are booted off. Again, the audience is shocked.

It's the sixth round. Steve contains his excitement, Rihanna becomes more serious, and Cher shows off her edgy side. But Steve and Chelsie are voted out.

Now it's round 7, all four couples move into more space. Rihanna and Sandra are shaking it, but Cher tries to stay focused. Tom is watching Rihanna and Sandra, but his joking in the Jitterbug helps him and Rihanna gets the boot. The audience boos the judges.

Now our golden oldies are in Round Eight. Sandra and Cher have a small dance-off, and Tom starts to throw around Kym. Sandra and Derek are shockingly booted off.

Now, it's Cher vs. Tom. In a quick joke, Maks & Kym start dancing as do Cher & Tom together… But once they go back Cher does not show the full enthusiasm that Tom does, and she comes in second. Tom celebrates his victory with pride by flopping to the ground at the end of the marathon.

Brittany: Well done, Tom!
Kendall: A very deserving winner! Len, why did Tom and Kym win?
Len: We all had disagreements, but the authenticity of our “less youthful” contestants was great. Also, Tom had so much fun and we saw it! Great for the Jitterbug!
Brittany: Okay! Kendall, shall we see how that affected the leaderboard?
Kendall: I think so!

1. Tom & Kym: 48
2. Sandra & Derek: 46
2. Cher & Maksim: 46
4. Hank & Edyta: 45
5. Rihanna & Val: 44
6. Katy & Mark: 42
7. Steve & Chelsie: 40
8. Zac & Peta: 39
9. Reese & Tony: 37
10. Tina & Louis: 34

Kendall: So, Tom Hanks reigns supreme on the leaderboard with 48 out of 50...
Brittany: But Tina Fey hits 30-Rock bottom with 34 out of 50.
Kendall: Tune in on Saturday to see who stays and who goes. It’s our final double elimination of the season and the episode promises to mark the momentous occasion.
Brittany: We have Lady Gaga returning to sing after being eliminated three weeks ago. And we also have a tear-jerking 9/11 tribute prepared and some other goodies. Also... We'll have a surprise guest co-host for the episode as I will be gone to Brazil for Miss Universe 2011!
Kendall: Make sure to watch! I'm Kendall Schmidt.
Brittany: And I'm Brittany Brannon. Good night and thanks for watching!
