Zooey Deschanel
Zooey Claire Deschanel (born January 17, 1980) is an American actress, musician, and singer-songwriter. In 1999, Deschanel made her film debut in Mumford, followed by her breakout role as young protagonist William Miller's troubled older sister Anita in Cameron Crowe's 2000 semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous. Deschanel soon became known for her deadpan or "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" supporting roles in films such as Elf (2003), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) and Failure to Launch (2006). She then began playing lead roles in films, including Yes Man (2008) and (500) Days of Summer (2009). She will next headline the new Fox series New Girl in fall 2011.
For a few years starting in 2001, Deschanel performed in the jazz cabaret act If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies with fellow actress Samantha Shelton. She plays keyboards, percussion, banjo and ukulele, and has sung in several of her films. Deschanel teamed up with M. Ward to release their debut album Volume One (recorded with M. Ward under the moniker She & Him) which was released in March 2008. The follow-up album Volume Two was released in the U.S. in March 2010. She is married to Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard.

Damian Whitewood
Damian Whitewood is an Australian dancer and former dancesport competitor. He started dancing at the age of 10 and has been Australian Champion, WA State Champion and Australasian Champion in Ballroom and Latin American styles. He has also represented Australia in the Worlds Youth Latin in Germany, the Worlds Youth Ballroom in Russia and was a semi-finalist at the Blackpool International Championships in the UK.
In 2000, he stopped competing to become a cast member of the popular stage show Burn the Floor. He's been touring with the production ever since. Career highlights along the way have been sharing the stage with the likes of James Brown, Shirley Bassey and Deep Purple in Monte Carlo.
He has appeared on Dancing With The Stars in Australia and America and So You Think You Can Dance in Australia and Holland. He was paired with Pamela Anderson on the tenth season of Dancing With The Stars and on the eight season of Bailando por un sueño.

Zooey's Journey
Zooey quickly became a pre-season fan favorite. Many looked foreward to seeing her quirky attitude and how it would affect her dancing.
In Week 2, Zooey and Damian danced a Cha-Cha-Cha to "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" by Paula Abdul. The dance got good reviews and scored 27 out of 40, landing Zooey and Damian in fourth place on the judges leaderboard for the night, right behind Katy Perry (who was advertised as Zooey's look-alike).
During Week 3, Zooey and Damian danced a Tango to "Tango Diablo" by Christa Behnke. The dance scored well with the judges, and scored 29 points, landing Zooey and Damian in a tie for eighth place, tied with Cher and Reese Witherspoon.
In Week 4, Zooey and Damian danced a Rumba to "Heartbreak Warfare" by John Mayer. The dance was about the aftermath of a bad break-up, and the couple was dressed in camouflage. The judge's called it Zooey's best dance, and she scored 35 points for the night, landing in sixth place for the night.
During Week 5, Zooey ditched Damian to dance a Rumba to "Good Life", by OneRepublic, with Zac Efron, as part of the Partner Ditch Week. Season 20 runner-up Brittany Brannon guest judged the dance and gave it a 10. They also danced a team dance Jive to "The Middle" by Jimmy Eats World. This time it was scored by Adam Levine, who gave the dance a 9. Zooey scored a total of 72 out of 80 for the night.
For Week 6, Zooey and Damian danced a Paso Doble to "99 Times" by Kate Voegele. Zooey and Damian were nervous that this dance would be underwhelming, and it was. It scored 32 total points, landing Zooey and Damian in last place for the night. Zooey was sadly not surprised when she and Damian were eliminated later that week.
